About F.P. Journe
François-Paul Journe was born in Marseille in 1957 and trained at the Lycée Diderot watchmaking school in Paris — the same institution that produced Abraham-Louis Breguet's successors. Under the tutelage of his uncle Michel Journe, an antique watch restorer, François-Paul developed an intimate understanding of 18th and 19th-century movement architecture. In 1983, he built his first pocket watch. The watch community noticed.
